Fabian Buhl’s First Ascent of Ganesha (8c/5.14b)

Fabian Buhl is a 26 year old German climber who previously made the 2nd ascent of Alexander Huber’s Nirwana (8c+/5.14c). This inspired Fabian to notch his own first ascent in a similar style; a ground-up rope solo for a 7-pitch line to the right of Nirwana. He went on to name the route Ganesa (8c/5.14b) after the elephant-headed Hindu god that is known as the remover of obstacles and the god of new beginnings. Check out his first ascent here…
