D-Fy Gravity Series: B.A.S.E. Jumping

So every friday we will be doing our D-Fy Gravity series. Send us your videos, photos, climbing souvineers and you may see them up here! This week, we’re focusing on base jumping.

B.A.S.E. jumping, which stands for the four kinds of fixed objects from which you can base-jump:buildings, antennas, spans (bridges), and earth (cliffs). We’ve deemed it the world’s most dangerous sport, and i’m sure you can see why!

As legend goes; the sport originated in 1912,  when pioneer base-jumper Franz Reichelt jumped from the first deck of Paris’ Eiffel Tower. Reichelt, a tailor, was testing his invention, the coat parachute, which did NOT work. Reichelt’s jump killed him.

Sport jumpers, jump from the world’s tallest buildings, steepest cliffs, and largest bridges. Needless to say, base jumpers like to D-Fy Gravity. Check out our video below, made with the help of found footage.
