A Recliner For Rock Climbers

As any climber knows, Rock Climbing can offer some of the greatest views from “The Top Of The World.” But why wait until you reach the top? Well look no further, as there is a new device that allows you to take a break and take in the views without reaching the top of your summit.

Dallin Smith, of Provo, Utah made the chair out of old rope he no longer used while climbing. As an industrial designer, Smith designed the chair as a a design project to repurpose old rope he had lying around.

The chair works by hooking into with two metal hooks that must be drilled into the rock. “I was trying to figure out how to put it to use and I was originally planning on a type of furniture to place in the living room,” says Smith. “However the more renditions I made, the more it made sense to place something outside.”
