Vertical Rock takes safety seriously. We strive to create a safe and secure environment to climb, learn and for all to enjoy. Please follow all rules and regulations of our facility and don’t hesitate to ask one of us for more information on our policies and procedures.
STEP ONE: Sign Our E-Waiver– (you can do this on your computer, from a mobile device, or at the facility)
STEP TWO: Choose your Climbing Option: purchase a day pass, 7-visit pass, or membership! Check out the Rates here.
STEP THREE: Check-in at the front desk and ask for a Belay Test. Belay Tests must be requested and passed as soon as you enter the gym. For safety reasons, we do not allow for a practice session. **Please read our rules and conditions on Belay Testing.
STEP FOUR: Upon completion of passing the belay test, VR will issue you the Top rope certification and log your cert into our database.
STEP FIVE: Please wear or posses your VR belay cert, so that it is visible to the VR staff, every time you are in the facility. The VR belay cert is an Orange band which is provided to you when you pass the test. If you lose your band, you must purchase a new band at the front desk upon enter the facility.

STEP TWO: Pick a Climbing Option. The most common programs for new climbers are an Open Climb, Learn the Ropes Class, Indoor Summer Camps, Outdoor Summer Campsand you can also check out a VR’s birthday party and the Youth Team optionsas well.
STEP THREE: Check the Calendarfor dates and times of programs you wish to attend. Open climbs are available all day on a first come first serve basis. STEP FOUR: Check- in with the front desk upon your arrival.
STEP FIVE: Wear comfortable shoes and athletic clothing.
Anyone wishing to lead climb and lead belay in our facility must follow the same check in procedures. Lead climbers must take a lead test as well as a top rope test. Ask front desk to get an approved instructor to conduct a lead test. Lead climbers must be 15 or older in order to belay, or have management approval.
Lead belay testing must be done with an ATC/tube style device.
(Gri- Gri’s are allowed to be used after successful completion of test)
All Lead tests are tested on 5.9 or greater routes.
