What You’ll Do
- Lead the planning and execution of the route setting program
- Manage the setting team — scheduling, training, feedback, and performance
- Set and oversee high-quality boulders and roped climbs for all skill levels
- Maintain consistency in grading, style, progression, and member experience
- Run forerunning sessions and make final decisions on route quality and readiness
- Coordinate stripping, resetting, hold maintenance, wall prep, and organization
- Uphold and enforce safety standards, PPE protocols, and efficient workflows
- Collaborate with gym leadership on programming, comps, events, and special sets
- Help build a positive, professional, and growth-oriented team culture
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 3 years of commercial climbing gym route setting experience
- Prior experience leading or managing a route setting team strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of modern climbing movement, grading, and setting for broad skill ranges
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills
- Strong time management, reliability, and attention to detail
- Comfortable working at height using route setting tools and equipment safely

Key Responsibilities
- Set high-quality boulder problems and roped routes that are creative and appropriate for a range of abilities
- Forerun and refine climbs to align with grading standards, movement goals, and member experience
- Work closely with the setting team and gym leadership on schedule, grading, and style
- Reset terrain efficiently and safely — stripping, washing holds, sorting hardware, and wall prep
- Inspect routes, holds, and wall features for safety and maintenance concerns
- Follow all route setting safety procedures, including use of PPE, ropes, ladders, and lifts
- Assist with events, clinics, competitions, and specialty setting as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Prior indoor route setting experience preferred
- Strong climbing movement knowledge across a range of styles
- Ability to set for multiple skill levels with attention to progression and accessibility
- Comfortable working at height using standard route setting tools and PPE
- Reliable, collaborative, and open to feedback
- USA Climbing or other route setting certification is a plus, but not required
- Competition setting experience is a plus

We’re seeking an energetic, knowledgeable instructor who can provide a fun, challenging, and motivating class designed to support the needs of rock climbers and outdoor athletes, focusing on fundamental strength and conditioning exercises.
What You’ll Do
- Lead a 1-hour HIIT class once per week on a recurring basis
- Design and deliver safe, engaging workouts for a range of fitness levels
- Incorporate foundational strength and conditioning movements that benefit climbers and outdoor athletes
- Create a positive, motivating, and community-focused class environment
- Prioritize proper form, movement quality, and participant safety
- Work with Vertical Rock staff to help grow and maintain the program
What We’re Looking For
- Experience teaching HIIT, strength, or group fitness classes
- Current fitness certification or relevant coaching/instruction background preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead a group confidently
- Positive, professional, and dependable
- Ability to program effective workouts that emphasize strength, mobility, stability, and conditioning
- Rock climbing experience is a plus, but not mandatory
